What the web is saying...

Pros: Excellent picture quality, in both High Definition and Standard Definition. Easy set up. Stylish and slim unit. Large hard drive.

Cons: For some owners, the menus have been a little slow, and the unit taking a little longer than expected to wake from standby. The interface has also been annoying for a small amount of users.

The Bottom Line: The Humax Foxsat is a reliable PVR with many features and plenty of recording space. Even the issues mentioned about the interface and boot times are generally overlooked as the image quality and recording features are both excellent. The vast majority of reviewers have highly recommended the Humax HD receiver/recorder, especially as a replacement for Sky+.
Information & Specification for the Humax Foxsat HDR 500GB HD Receiver and Recorder

As well as being able to access HD Freesat content and upscaled Standard Definition content, this PVR also allows you to both pause and rewind live TV. You can also use the menu to set up a series record function and the schedule tracking function means you shouldn't miss either the start of end of programs if they are delayed. Another excellent feature is the very low power consumption in standby - just 1 Watt. The addition of twin-tuners means you can watch one channel and record another - you will need a dual LNB on your satellite dish for this to work. If you have an internet connection, you can also access iPlayer content via an Ethernet cable.
